New Sustainable Food Packaging Trays

Cascades, a North America and European based packaging company, launched the first thermoformed cardboard tray. The product is made from 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard, and has a recyclable water-based barrier coating which prevents moisture. 

Since sustainable packaging is becoming more important due to retail regulations and consumer demand, this tray makes a great alternative to plastic and foam trays. 

This product is currently being used in Canada for mini cucumbers, and has also been used for sweet corn in the USA. The thermoformed trays are available in a variety of sizes and are suitable for a wide range of fruits and vegetables.
